Franco-American social
critic and humorist Laurel Zuckerman worked for 18 years in industry before
turning to writing. Lke her heroine Alice Wunderland, she is a graduate of France’s top business school (HEC) and a former city councilor. Her first
book, Sorbonne
Confidential,
explores with humor the link between how English teachers are selected, trained
and promoted in France and the results of
their students. Closely based on Zuckerman's experiences at the Sorbonne Paris IV in 2004-2005, its publication provoked outcry, debate and praise.
Zuckerman is also the author of the comic novel, Les Rêves Barbares du Professeur Collie (Fayard 2009) and numerous articles in English in French. She founded Paris Writers News in 2009.
