Two weeks ago University president Marc Gontard was hit in the head by a bucket of excrement as he welcomed first year students.
According to Le Figaro, the masked aggressors distributed fliers demanding the creation of a “people’s university” and the destruction of Rennes II.
The attackers are so extreme that even the radial SUD union has broken off relations with them.
Why is a university president left to confront violent criminals? Where are the police?
“The Police fear that an intervention with aggravate the problem,” says university vice-president, Danielle Charles Le Bihan.
